GNF Commercial Management Limited is hiring blasters to support civil construction projects across Halifax and the surrounding region.

In this role, you will assist with blast setup, execution, and site safety, working closely with experienced blasting teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Assist in blast site operations under supervision of a licensed Blaster-in-Charge
  • Measure, load, and stem blast holes
  • Connect and support initiation systems
  • Assist with blast design and drill pattern layouts using digital tools
  • Conduct site cleanup, inventory checks, and site setup/closure
  • Perform site hazard assessments to maintain safe working conditions
  • Inspect and maintain blasting equipment and related vehicles
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of explosive materials
  • Ensure compliance with TDG, Explosives Act, OH&S, and WHMIS regulations
  • Follow all company safety procedures and operating standards

Requirements

  • Experience in construction, mining, or related environments is an asset
  • Familiarity with blasting tools, site layout, or surveying equipment
  • Experience with GPS or digital site tools is an asset
  • Safety certifications (WHMIS, TDG, etc.) are an asset
  • Basic computer skills for logging and reporting
  • Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions
  • Strong attention to safety and situational awareness
  • Professional attitude and strong teamwork skills
  • Strong communication skills
